UI and UX Designer Intern

Design clear, accessible interfaces for mobile and web products.

About the role

Design the screens and flows people actually use. You will work with engineers and the founder from sketch to finished interface, and see your designs built and shipped.

What you would work on

  • Turn short briefs into wireframes, flows and polished screens in Figma
  • Design mobile and web interfaces that are clear and accessible
  • Build and maintain small design systems of colours, type and components
  • Prepare designs and notes that developers can build from
  • Review the finished build against the design
  • Test designs with simple user feedback and improve them

Requirements

  • Minimum: a completed bachelor's degree (or final-year student finishing within six months) in design, HCI, computer science, media or a related field, or an equivalent portfolio
  • Good fluency in written and spoken English
  • A portfolio of at least two projects; student and personal work counts
  • Skill in Figma or a similar design tool
  • Understanding of layout, typography, colour and accessibility basics
  • Able to explain your design choices clearly
  • Willing to explore new, fun challenges and take feedback well
  • Interest in how products are built and how real people use them

Nice to have

  • Basic HTML and CSS
  • Experience with prototyping or user testing
  • Mobile app design experience

A paid task: redesign one screen from a short brief and explain your choices. Every trial task is paid.
